Goodbye Coruña, hello San Sebastián!

Hola!!!

Right now I am sitting in my favorite coffee shop in San Sebastián, Koh Toa,with my new friend Melanie! I wanted to blog about my last week!

The weekend without the family was very nice. I got all my packing done and hung out with my friend Heidi everyday! We went to the beach and chatted a bunch. It was great. I ran every night and it was sad to realize I wouldn't be running to the beach anymore once I got home. I cleaned the house and got everything ready to go on Wednesday morning then headed to the bus station. I left my suitcase and backpack at the bus station drop off for the day so I could meet Carla, the au pair coordinator and say goodbye. I went to the meeting spot, which was the Spanish class building and when I got there the door was completely shut and nobody was there. I was so confused and had no way of getting ahold of her. I waited it out for about 20 minutes and then she came running over. She said she tried calling me, but I had to leave my Spanish phone at the house so I never got her call. We went to a crepe place and then to coffee. We spoke in Spanish so that was nice and it was good to get to say goodbye. After she left to pick her kids up I walked around the city until I had to go back to the bus station. Walking around I felt super sad. I really like A Coruña and I am going to miss it. Being there this summer really taught me it is okay to travel and be alone and I actually really like it. I like not having to rely on anyone else or go at anyone else's pace. I also enjoy the challenge of navigating a new city. (Southern Spain is next)

The bus ride to San Sebastián was 12 hours! I didn't sleep that much but all in all it wasn't too bad. When I arrived in San Sebastián I seriously couldn't stop smiling. It was 6:40 am and I was exhausted plus had all my luggage but I started walking towards the old part and didn't stop. I went straight to my favorite coffee shop(where I am now) and waited until 9:00 to go to my pension. I was so happy. I couldn't believe I was back in my favorite city. I walked to my pension and had to wait outside the door for two hours until she finally answered the door,. That was annoying but it couldn't ruin my happiness. I took an hour nap then met my friend Oliver after eating a sandwich and cookie from my favorite bakery. We went to the beach and tanned. I even got in the ocean twice! I was in the water longer than I have ever been in my life. It was so warm outside and the water was warm as well. It was so amazing! After that I took a shower and got ready for my favorite activity in the world, pinxto pote. I have been waiting to get to do this again since May 2013 when I left SanSe for the first time. It was so fun. I met two girls that were in the summer USAC program and some of Oliver's other friends. We had so much fun and ate so much delicious food. It was the best night ever, but it was truly sad not to be there with all of my USAC friends. The food is the main component of pinxto pote but the fun times I had with my friends was definitely a huge part as well.
Friday I spent the day with my new friend Melanie as well as with Oliver. I had my favorite tortilla  bocadillo and Melanie made me a delicious pasta for dinner. It was a day full of walking around Parte Vieja and a trip to an awesome handmade jewelry shop. I ran home from  where Melanie was staying and it was so nice to run along la Concha and enjoy the view of the city at night.
The weather has been weird yesterday and today. It will be sunny then start raining and be cloudy. It is okay though because it gives me time to blog and enjoy my favorite moka blanka. I can't believe I am back here. It is so amazing and I am so happy!!!
Ciao for now!
