Goodbye Grand Junction, Hello NYC

Hola,

My last week in Grand Junction flew by. I was very sad to say my last goodbyes to a group of women who have changed my life. Visiting Theta Psi took up 7 weeks of my life this year and I wouldn't have changed a second of it. Saying goodbye was bittersweet but I know that we will see each other again someday.

One of the women, Pauline, drove me to Denver where I stayed at the airport for 8 hours waiting for my delayed plane. The Denver airport was closed the day before I was scheduled to fly out due to snow so they were making up all the cancelled flights. I made it to JFK airport at 8:00am Friday morning. Kelly, another LC and her boyfriend Colin picked me up. We headed to the salon because Kelly was getting her hair done. ( It looks amazing by the way) Colin took me to get a bagel sandwich and it was one of the best I've ever had.

I met Kelly's family and hung around Long island for the day. Kelly, her mom and I walked around Port Jeff and went to a wine tasting and a cool bar called Brewology. We picked up some pizza and went back home to hang out with the rest of the family. Kelly's family is SUPER nice and so funny. We decorated Easter eggs until Colin, Kelly and I went to a bar and watched their friend play the drums in a band. It was super fun and I got to meet a few of their friends. The band was really great and had us singing and dancing late into the evening.

We woke up early the next morning to take the train into NYC. We walked around times square, went into the Hershey factory and I ate my first sweet since lent began. Easter was the next day but I couldn't pass up free chocolate. We found a really good coffee shop and then headed to more site seeing. We walked for blocks and blocks and saw a lot of stuff. We got a snack and sat on the Met Steps, found a really cool clothing store neither one of us had ever been to, gazed at the enormous buildings always surrounding us, and walked most of Central Park.  It was a lovely day with nice weather as well so that was great. Colin met us after work and we went to a few bars and a really delicious place for dinner. We went to a few more bars after dinner and took the train back to Long Island. We ended up getting home around 2 am and we were all SOOOO tired. It was a long day but an amazing one. I can't wait to go back to NYC and see even more.

On Easter Kelly's mom made the most delicious brunch. The whole table was filled with so much amazing food and we all ate until we couldn't anymore. Kelly's dad made us the best mimosas and they gave me my own Easter basket. Her brother, Justin, hid all the Easter eggs for us and they were ridiculously hard to find. Colin won the Easter egg hunt with Kelly close behind and me trailing. I did find the very FIRST egg though so I was fine with it.

We had a relaxing day watching a marathon of Fixer Upper and then went to a really nice dinner with Kelly's family. It was delicious and when we got home we watched The Intern, which was a really cute movie.

Monday morning I woke up and packed. I was sad to leave after such a fun weekend but Kelly took me to go get pizza before taking me to the train station. I traveled for almost 11 hours and finally arrived in Rochester to visit the women at Rochester Institute of Technology.

The campus is REALLY cool. They have a lot of cool buildings and so many different types of restaurants. I'm excited to spend the rest of the week here!

HOME IN 24 days!
Ciao ciao for now
xoxo
