Wake me up when September ends???

Besides being a great anthem of the 2000's the sentiment to "wake me up when September ends" is a feeling we can all relate to. September is that weird month where it is not really summer anymore but it is not quite fall. You are back in school but not quite in the swing of things and the weather is so weird you end up wearing summer clothes and being too cold in the morning & evening or wearing fall clothes and sweating all day...or in my case just sweating no matter what you do because Missouri's humidity is the devil. Basically September is a transition month and that is definitely true to my life right now.

I just finished my fifth week of grad school. It is everything and nothing that I expected it to be. I am coping well with the absurd amount of reading thrown at me every week and I am enjoying getting to know the other students in my cohort. I am learning a lot, sometimes interesting things, sometimes boring things. Only having two days of class really is amazing. I have a four day weekend from school every single week which is the only way I'm able to get all that reading done.

Work is going great. We moved into our new office which is FANTASTIC. I have a sick office with a window to outside and a giant inside window that overlooks the rest of the office. Our new furniture is coming at the end of the month so after that I'll get to start decorating which I am really excited about. The consultants left this past week and weekend so now my focus is making sure they are doing well and getting prepared  for next semester.

I also have kept up with ASA. I was able to help out with recruitment at UCM and Missouri State. I love recruitment so we had a really great time. I did not sleep for two weekends straight but it was worth it! Both chapters were able to recruit some awesome new members!!

My apartment is coming together. I have a table and chairs in my dining room now! I am slowly adding to my spice cabinet and I have more than three things in the fridge now!! YAY food! Every paycheck I try to buy something else to update the space. I am having so much fun making it my own!

I made a couple new friends, Katelyn and Doug. We went to trivia together and had so much fun losing!! They also have a love for a team that bleeds blue and orange and even though it is not the same team we bond over our love of college football!

Ryann came to visit me for labor day weekend! We had an amazing time together exploring KC. We did so many fun things and really made the most of our time together which was great. It was so nice to see a friendly face! THANKS FOR COMING RYANN I LOVEEEE YOU!  I had worked 46 days straight before she got there but then we spent five days off together and I started that Tuesday back at work refreshed and ready to go.

I went to a few more Royals games. One with Ryann and one with Marissa, one of my consultants. We have lost every game I've gone to. I blame it on me but I'm not going to stop going, they are too fun. I also went to my first ever NFL game. The Chiefs played the Chargers on Sunday, the 11th and came back from a three score deficit. It was amazing to watch. The energy in the stadium was insane and I cannot wait for my next game!!

I am gearing up to go to Colorado next weekend for an observation visit for work. I am excited to be back in one of my favorite states for a long weekend!! Two weeks after that I'm heading back to Indy to do some volunteer training with ASA. I am excited to go mostly because it will be a reunion for all the consultants from last year! The next weekend I am headed home to Boise for BSU Homecoming, joined by Jessi, Keena and Ryann. We are ready to tear up the town and stay at our favorite place, Hotel Newsom. The next weekend my mom and her boyfriend Brodie are coming to Missouri! We are going to go to UCM homecoming and another Chiefs game. I am very excited. October is going to be busy, exciting and full of family and friends!

See what I mean, wake me up when September ends????

Ciao ciao for now!
xoxo
