Hello everyone,
If you haven't heard (honestly everyone has heard I would not shut up about it) I went to four, count 'em, FOUR, homecomings this year!!!
I have long enjoyed homecoming. In high school it was the most fun weekend of the fall, the cheer team was in charge of the dance, there was a spirit week, we got to wear football player jerseys with our cheer uniforms, the whole thing. It was always so fun.
In college, homecoming was always the game we could get EVERYONE to attend. My family continues to go all out for tailgating, which made every homecoming extra special.
Nowadays, homecoming is the one for sure weekend all of my friends come back to Boise to hang out. It is the most special weekend of the year for me!
This year, I made it a personal goal to attend as many homecoming festivities as possible.
Here is a recap of each:
University of Central Missouri - I do not have a strong tie with UCM, so I was not super pumped for this event. I went to the parade, stayed for two hours, then drove home. Not super eventful, but I did see some cute kids.
University of Missouri (MIZZOU, the inventor of Homecoming) - Nick, Miranda, Katelyn, and I woke up at 3:30 am and drove to Columbia to make the parade start time of 7:00am. We met up with my friend Natalie and watched the parade from a nice corner. We got lots of candy and a few foam footballs. It was a good parade overall. We then went to a tailgate hosted by Nick's friend. There was an ice luge that I said I would absolutely not participate in. Spoiler alert, by the end of the day, I did it twice. LOL. This game was special because the University of Idaho Vandals had traveled all the way over to Missouri to lose to the Tigers. I repped my state, and cringed when everyone thought I was a true Vandal. The day was fun, the night was long, and I was hungover by 7pm. Truly a great day.
Boise State University - Nick and Miranda came with me all the way to Boise to meet up with Jessi, Ryann, Meg Fru, and Tara and Kyle. The weekend was short but super sweet and I had an awesome time showing Nick and Miranda the great parts of Boise State Homecoming. The parade was chiller than normal, but I said "I love you" to every football player that walked by. Again, nobody said it back....Tailgating was super fun as per usual, and the game was very cold, but we got to sit in the student section and cheer our hearts out until half time when we had to leave and find the warmth. BSU Homecoming is my favorite weekend!
Florida State University - I flew to Jacksonville, FL, and Aubrey picked me up and we drove to good ole' Tallahassee. It was my first time in Florida, and I was very excited. We went to Pow Wow on Friday night, which is sort of like a pep rally, I guess? The band was awesome, the cheerleaders were awesome, the dancers were sort of awesome, and the circus was AWESOME. It was super fun. The next morning, we "tailgated" at a house, then headed to the game. It was so much warmer than any other game I had attended, and at half time we were beating Deleware 56 to 6. So we went home, and the rest is history. It was a wild day.

Some things I learned throughout this process:
- Tailgating as hard as I do is not good for my body or well being
- Nobody loves homecoming as much as I do
- I am tired and old
- Each school has their own fun things, but I still love Boise State Homecoming the best
- FSU has a LEGIT CIRCUS on campus
- Nobody wanted to go to any game this year, every stadium was super empty :(
- My friends are troopers for sticking through this semester with me
Enjoy some great homecoming photos and until next year!!!
Ciao ciao for now!
