Happy Friday everyone! I am in an especially good mood today because today, like the past two days is nice and sunny and warm! Nothing like Boise weather but warm enough to get a tan so I am happy!! Moni also told me we will be getting wifi in the house on Monday so this will be one of my last trips to the library solely for wifi purposes. Hurray! I am hoping I will be able to sit out on my terrace in the sunshine and blog next week but we will see!
So Wednesday after I blogged at the library I went into our backyard and tanned and read for an hour or so. After that I decided that it was a nice time to go on a run. I snuck into the soccer field we have at our house. I am using the term "field" loosely because it was nothing but rock hard cement mixed dirt in awkward positions. I did suicides and it was hard not to trip on the uneven ground. It was so nice to be outside and working out!! I was sore Thursday and I am still sore today. Whoooo.
I went to Spanish class for the last time yesterday. It was a little better. She talked to me more and even gave me seperate workbook activities to do but I still decided to get my refund for the last class and said goodbye to my super nice teacher. After class I had a meeting with Carla, the au pair coordinator. I accidentally started bawling my eyes out while telling her that I think the kids hate me and I don't know what to do. She was really nice and told me it wasn't my fault and gave me a lot of tips to handlethe kids. She told me a lot of au pairs feel the same way their third week. That made me feel a little better. She also gave me some more information to meet up with some groups that meet to speak in English and Spanish so I am going to try and check those out. New au pairs are coming soon so hopefully I can make some new friends.
On the way home I took the wrong bus and was 45 minutes away from home! I was stuck on the bus for about 2 1/2 hours and arrived so late I think Sora was a little mad! Oops! Oh well it was fun to talk to the bus drier and see a really beautiful part of Coruña ! I saw a bunch of different beaches and had a great walk to a bus stop to take me home.
I have been really struggling the past two weeks and even wondering if I should go home. I don't want to leave Spain but it is truly miserable getting treated so poorly by the children. I have talked to the parents and Carla is going to talk to Moni as well so hopefully it gets better with time. It is beautiful here and I would hate to leave early. I chose my summer knowing that it was going to be surprising and most likely difficult but that doesn't mean it won't be worth it in the end. Thank you to all my family and friends and home who always encourage and love me from afar.
This weekend the parents are going to Barcelona for a motorcyle festival or something. Sora is staying with me the weekend so that is good! I think we are going to make pizza again so I am super excited for that. I hope to have one of the days of the weekend completely off so I can have a break from the children but we will see. The pool in their neighborhood opens on Sunday so that should be fun as well!
Constantly looking for somewhere that has "iced coffee," only to be continually disappointed. Trying to as always eat more fruits and veggies so I don't die from scurvy. I read constantly at home if I am not with the kids and I have progressed to playing two suited spider solitaire so I think I am pretty awesome.
Well there is no fun in sitting inside the library when it is so beautiful outside so Happy Friday to all and I hope you all have a great weekend!!
