A rainy day with friends

Hello all,
I am here in a cafe, I just ate some pancakes and drank cafe con leche and I'm with two British girls who I'm going to take a Spanish class with. They are a little crazy. But I like them. We seem to just e so different even though we speak the same language. Their names are Annabel and Heather. They are both very tall and speak with their British accent and it was so hard not to copy them. It was nice to talk in English to them though. We have four classes of Spanish in the next three weeks that are two hours long each time. My Spanish is the best out of all three of us so that was a confidence booster for sure. We had coffee and cake(they had carrot cake while I had pancakes) and tried to speak in Spanish.  I think we all have different ideas about what an au pair does or should be doing. I am totally fine with helping with the kids but they think it is crazy and we should only be speaking English to them.
In my house Sora does EVERYTHING! She makes breakfast and then cleans all day and the bathes the children and then makes them dinner. She does the laundry and the dishes. It is really hard for me to get used to. I have done my own laundry since I was 8 years old because I just don't like other people's clothes mixed in with mine so it is really weird. I also always wash my dish after dinner and she always yells at me. The first day I was here I had two pieces of toast with some milk. She made me that everyday I was here for the first few days so I just started to come downstairs so I could grab a yogurt before she made it!!
Today has been dreadfully rainy so being in the city is not as fun as it was the other day, but I will not let the weather deter me!

So last night we were all at the park and Matias was running around and he fell down and started crying. I felt his arm and there was a bit bump. I thought that either he had a goose egg rather quick or he broke his arm. They went to the hops oral and it was the latter. He had to get surgery this morning and hasn't come home yet. I feel terrible. It's obviously not my fault and it would have happens if Mónica was there too but it was me so I feel responsible! They don't think it's my fault though so everything is good. I feel so awful! One week I'm here and already a broken bone. *knocking on wood that is all that happens

I tried to read Harry Potter to Nico last night but with the drama of the hospital trip and Lucas being crazy we only ready two pages.
I finished the book my cook club is reading  for the month of May and although I don't normally think I would have liked this particular book at home, here I really liked it. I think the comfort of reading really helped me get through the first week here. I have about ten books on my iPad that I haven't read and I also am going to try reading some books in Spanish.

If you have Facebook and get the Facebook messaging app I can talk to you anytime because my spanish phone has the app! It has been nice!

The rain has stopped so I must go back outside while I can!

Until tomorrow,

Xoxo
Taryn
