Hola!
So I found a straightener but it was 70 euros so I decided that bad hair is okay. I will still look for one but as of now I just try to brush it a lot so it stays kinda straight.
El corte inglés was awesome. It is like 7 stories of shopping. Way to much for the two hours I was there. There is also another mall right next to it with lots of different shops. It was too much to handle, but awesome! I love just walking around and seeing everything they have. SO many really cute things and then some stuff I am just like wow why!? They even have wedding dresses on one of the floors!!!
Monday the kids were so obnoxious I thought I was going to explode with annoyance. It is so hard because they can just speak in Spanish and run around and I can not do anything about it because they don't know that much English to say instead. I was tired at the end of the day to say the least.
Tuesday, (yesterday) I went to the library and did some school stuff, checked on my fall schedule etc and then made sticker charts for the boys. I also went to the chino store and bought stickers. When they came home after school and ate lunch I showed them and explained to them what the sticker chart was. That got them talking in a lot of English. I think this will help. They like incentives to speak English and I like sticker charts so there ya go! There are over 150 spots and then the last one is a fiesta spot and if they get there before I leave we are going to have a party. Every 25 or so spots they have a prize to win as well. Some days I will give them 0 stickers when they aren't listending to me and other days they can get up to 6. I also will sometimes make them put more than one in each square so it takes longer to get to the present. I want them to learn to listen to me because right now they do not do that so well. Especially in the mornings on the way to the bus. SO ANNOYING. I understand why they don't, but it is still so frustrating.
We were playing soccer (fĂștbol) and I am kind of competitive and I thought I broke my toe. Now, I don't think it is broken, but this morning it still hurts with every step so I think it is definitely jammed or something. OOPS and OUCH.
Tomorrow is my first Spanish class! I am so excited and a little nervous. My Spanish is the best of the group but I have no idea what the class will even be like! I guess I will find out tomorrow!
For today I am going to do a little bit of studying and get some lessons ready for the kiddos.
I am going to take the GRE (graduate exam) shortly after I get home so I will be studying for that as well as Spanish, obviously!
Some random things:
I am getting a library card so I can check out books for me to read and for me to read to the kids.
Ham and cheese empanadas are my favorite thing to eat from Galicia so far.
I crave something sweet after I eat now because the kids ALWAYS have dessert after they eat a meal.
My toe really hurts.
It is beautiful here! Everywhere! Trees, bushes, flowers, hills, ocean, rivers! Everything! So amazing!
I have not opened my peanut butter or my ranch yet! Saving it for special days!
That is all for now!
Ciao,
Un beso!
xoxo
