I went to my Spanish class yesterday, expecting it to be a little better, but it was just as bad. And by bad I mean it is like going back to high school Spanish. I came to Spain and got this job so I could advance my Spanish and I paid for this class so I was really frustrated. I talked to Carla, and she said that Lis (our teacher) said she would block out a specific time for me during the third class and I can also have part of my money back, so that is comforting but also annoying. I am going to try and find an intercambio instead and see if that helps. I am going to try to go around town and talk to people in Spanish just to practice because I do not speak enough at home to actually be progressing.
Some funny notes about the kids:
Matias almost always falls asleep during dinner. He will have a spoon in his hand and will start to fall asleep as he is chewing. It is one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
They are all obsessed with frozen. They love to sing the songs, although they are all in Spanish. Sometimes I play the English ones so they can learn both. Matias runs around singing "libre soy, libre soy!"
I don't remember if I have told you what they wear to school but they wear either a jumpsuit that has their school colors on it or a uniform polo/shorts/pants/sweater combo everyday. The days are set so on Monday they all wear the uniform on Tuesday two of them wear the jumper and the other wears the uniform etc. It is easy because they are always so easy to get ready in the morning.
When they are out on the weekends they usually wear grey skinny jeans or colored shorts with some sort of button up shirt or sweatshirt with words like LOS ANGELES on it. They are so cute when they wear real clothes instead of their school stuff. The whole family is so stylish! I love it! But I also feel super lame in comparison.
I also forgot to mention that I bought a new purse at the mall last week. I only brought my really small one here and it was getting really frustrating when I wanted to bring my ipad places or my notebook or anything more than my wallet and phones!! It is super cute and so helpful for all the stuff I bring with me all the time!! I LOVE IT. It is orange and teal!!!!! :)
We have been making flashcards, the younger two enjoy it but Nico refuses to do anything on the days we make them and will not play any game or do anything in English so that has been frustrating so we took a break from the cards and read a bunch of books in English instead.
Yesterday was super nice outside. I put on shorts and sat outside in their turf yard and painted my nails! I have not had to paint my own nails in four years so it was really awkward but they look better than being plain!! I painted them orange with gold sparkles! The boys were really interested in my nail polish so that is super hilarious.
I have been very upset and stressed out about my situation with the kids not listening and have contemplated coming home early for the last week. I think I am going to try and stick it out. Nobody is in charge of your own happiness except yourself so I am just going to have to work a little harder to enjoy myself and be the happy that I normally am. Thanks for all the support and love while I have been here!
LOVE YOU ALL!!
