The ins and outs of the fam

For this blog post I am going to talk extensively about each member of the family. I have been living with then for over 5 weeks now and I know a lot about them and I think it'll help you understand more when I talk about them. Some info may be repeated from other posts so sorry in advance.

Manuel (Manu)- Manu is a really cool dude. He is a lawyer and hates it. He works in a talk building in the city and wears the same outfit everyday. Blue shirt with suit and a different tie. He takes around an hour to get ready in the morning and uses a blow dryer to so his hair. It's short hair but is longer and he does some sort of faux hawk in the front. He goes to work around 10:00 in the morning and usually comes home after I've gone to bed. (Past 11:00pm). When we are out on the weekends he is a really fun guy. He tries to be the cool dad and not get them in trouble but he is also the one that they boys are scared of if you tell them you are going to tell him. He is all about the bribes. I saw him very sneakily give Lucas an euro one day. (Lauren G that doesn't sound correct, English is hard now.)
We don't talk much. He knows a good amount of English but when we talk he usually speaks Spanish and has a really tough accent to understand. He really likes super heroes. The whole house is filled with superhero books and comics and toys. It's crazy. It's not just one type either. It's like every super hero and villain created, he has a book about!

Mónica (Moni)- She works at a big company here in Coruña called Estrella Galicia, which is a type of beer, but they also make a type of water. She does the marketing and advertising. She comes home with merchandise at least twice a week. Her car always has a bunch of water bottles in it and at least one six pack of bottled beer. She gave me a phone case from her work so I have an "iBeer" iPhone case now! HAHA!
She is super stylish, you won't see her without heels and her favorite shirt is a white long sleeved one that has an underpart with blue stars. She wears it at least one to two times a week. She is super nice but is really adamant about her kids learning English so they can get a job in the future. I like hanging out with her and chatting in Spanish.

Moni and Manu together are the ultimate friend couple. They seem to know everyone and have so many close friends. We rarely do anything without another of their friends coming along. Every weekend we are home they go out at night and leave the kids home with Sora and me. They are very social and very fun to hang out with at a social gathering.

Sora- I don't even know how to begin to explain Sora so I'll just be quite blunt. Sora is a black 31 year old woman from the Dominican Republic. She wears the same ratty sweats and T-shirt everyday except for two occasions; 1. When we go to the pool she wears a tank too and shorts. 2. When she leaves on weekend she wears jeans and a shirt. She wakes up with the kids, squeezes a cup of orange juice for Moni and makes sure the kids eat breakfast and get dressed. She is in charge of all meals and bath time. She cleans the house during the day and does laundry. She either listens to Spanish music and sings loudly or watches an array of Spanish tv shows during the day and night. She loves the kids but isn't afraid to discipline them, which rocks for me most times. When the kids weren't home during the day she usually went to other houses and hung out with the other housekeepers and they usually trade food with each other.  She told me that she is 31 and on weekends she goes back to her house and hangs out with her 17 year old kid. I don't know the whole situation but it's a little weird.

Nico- The oldest of the boys. He is 8 years old and knows the most English. He almost always knows what I am saying. He likes to longboard and surf and is easily embarrassed. He loves pizza and sunny delight (only things we can agree on.) He likes to read comic books and watch tv. He plays soccer in the backyard but doesn't like to play it anywhere else. He likes tennis and wants to be on a team in the future. He likes to draw and draws pretty well for an 8 year old. His best friends name is Dani. Dani lives in our neighborhood but goes to a different school. His mom is Moni's really good friend so we hang out with then quite often. Nico likes to swim but could lay on warm concrete for hours. He is stubborn and really likes to play the iPad.

Lucas- Lucas is a crazy six year old. If you saw the picture of the family before I left, he is the one with his tongue sticking out. Everyone told me he would be the difficult one. Congratulations, you were right. Lucas has the most energy of all the boys. He loves teddy grahams and doesn't like pizza (unforgivable!) He also has the worst melt downs when he is upset about something. He likes to play in the backyard and swim. Lucas is a typical middle child by all standards.

Matias- Matias is four years old, cute as a button and knows it! He speaks better Spanish than me and surprisingly remembers quite a but if English that he has learned. He loves pizza and spaghetti (spaghetti noodles with either egg, plain tomato sauce or pesto.) He has been a champ with his broken arm and plays basically the same as before even when we tell him to not do something. He is adventurous for a four year old and is hilarious. He usually stays out of trouble just be sheer luck and because he is the youngest.

The three boys together are frightening. When they are on the same page and agreeing they are hard to go up against. When they are fighting it is terrible as well. Picture cute kids screaming in Spanish and wrestling/jumping on the sofa.

Well there is the family. 32 days left with them!
