Hola todos!
I hope everyone had a great day on the 4th and weekend! I know I did!
On Friday we want to the beach house for the weekend. There was a music festival going on that Moni's work got us passes got so we were planning on that and staying at the beach house.
We left home around 5 and headed straight to the beach. It was warm outside but not swimming warm. I had on capris and my most American tank top with a cardigan. When we were at the beach they had a bunch of paddle boards and canoes there for anyone to try. Moni ran over with Lucas and tried the paddle board. After a few minutes she called me over to try. And I did! Fully clothed and terrified, I began to paddle board in the ocean! To most people that's not a big deal, but for me it was! I didn't freak out or cry, (and I wasn't even wearing a life jacket.) This was about as Carpe Diem, YOLO, Do something everyday that scares you, etc thing I could have done. I was proud of myself and turns out I actually really like it. It's easy, calming and relaxing. I wanted to do it again but there was not a chance the rest of the time. While I was in the water Moni yelled to me that she was doing something for a half hour and to watch the kids. I didn't know what the word she used was so I went back to land and figured it out. She had won a scuba diving trip! So for the next 30 minutes she got all ready and then headed into the water. Matias started crying and didn't stop the entire time she was under. It was super annoying and everyone stared at us. Nothing anyone did would make him stop. After Moni came back up it started pouring rain so we went home, bathed, had dinner and I tried to make red, white and blue drinks and explain the fourth to the boys. They didn't care and they didn't like the drinks. (The firework snapchats I got almost made up for the lack of Fourth of July celebrating I was involved in.) Manu got to the house at 11:30pm with one of their friends and Moni left with them to the festival. I got all the boys in their beds around 12:45 and I didn't hear when the adults got back.
The next day we got ready and drove to another town for the festival. It was raining so they had to move the concerts into auditoriums. We saw two artists play. The first was a British guy who sang in English, obviously. He was really good and I had a great time listening to him. The second was a man and a woman who are popular in Spain and were really fun to listen to. I understood most of what the songs were about and they were really good. We ran through the pouring rain to the car, to go have lunch with some of Moni's work friends at a house they were renting for the weekend. It was a nice time and it had finally stopped raining so everyone played a little soccer then left for the festival again. Sadly, nothing started until 8:30 and it was only 6:00 so we decided to go back to San Vicente. We got some frozen pizzas and after hanging out at "Dora," we went home. After pizza and baths the adults left for the festival again and the boys and I watched cartoons until midnight.
I think they must have stayed out pretty late because we didn't leave the house the next morning until almost 1:00pm. It was a beautiful day and I got some tanning in until we went to lunch. The place we went , is so awesome. It has outside seating and is on the beach and has the best fries I have ever eaten. We went back to the beach and hung out. I read a little and tanned and then we played some beach volleyball. Everyone was surprised at my skill level and although it was hard to get a volley going with the kids, some random guys came over and played and it was so much fun!! We didn't get home until almost 11:00 and we were all either already asleep or tired from the fun weekend!
This week should be a good one! It looks like the weather will be nice an my birthday is on Thursday! Their cousins that live in China are also coming on Thursday and I think we are all going to the beach house on Friday again!
Hope everyone has a great week!
Ciao! Un beso!
