Howdy everybody!
This past week has been a very busy week of conferencing. On Monday we slept in and headed to downtown Indianapolis for the Fraternity Executive Association Field Staff Conference. Over 270 consultants from all over the country were there to learn from our many guest speakers. We got to go to a minor league baseball game where we watched the Indy Indians play Scranton. It was really fun and we ended up winning in the last inning! The conference in general was good, there were a lot of good speakers and I took a lot of notes. The nights after the conference were much more enjoyable though because we were able to get to know more of the consultants from all over. I met so many people from the Midwest and South. When I say I'm from Idaho the first thing people say is POTATOES! It is pretty funny so I've come to embrace it. I do love me some potatoes.
The conference lasted until Wednesday afternoon and then we had another conference about risk management on the road. After it was over we returned home to our hotel and it was so nice to be back at "home." The next day our headquarters hosted a recruitment workshop with Phired Up Productions for a bunch of other sororities. We met a lot of great women and learned some good information about recruitment. Friday was finally a day in the office. We work half days on Fridays though so it was short and sweet. A staff meeting and a debrief with our boss about our conferences was about all we had time to do before heading back to the Staybridge.
We went to a bagel deli for lunch and it was delicious! We have been trying to go to new places each time we eat out because Indianapolis has A TON of great food to choose from. We were all very tired so we all chilled for the night. Saturday we met Ali, a consultant from last year for brunch at Bub's Cafe. It was so yummy. They have a breakfast bowl made of sourdough bread that has gravy, eggs, potatoes and your choice of meat. I didn't get one but I tried one and it was really good. Abby, a consultant last year who now works at headquarters had a bbq for us at her apartment that evening. It was super fun, we played scattegories and had burgers and grilled corn on the cob. Her apartment is the coolest. It is super old on the outside but it is SO SUPER nice on the inside. I'm obsessed with how cute it is decorated and how great of a space it is.
Today, I had my first meal from Panera Bread, it was scrumptious. Today we are just hanging out and watching the Harry Potter marathon on abcFamily. Tonight we are going to the movies like we did last weekend. We can get student tickets with our old student ID's so it is pretty sweet. Last week we saw Trainwreck and today we are going to see Paper Towns. I am really excited because I just read the book.
This is going to be our first FULL week in the office with all 8 consultants so I am really excited to learn more information and get closer to traveling!
Well I hope everyone had a great week!
Ciao ciao for now!
