I am sitting in Starbucks at Colorado Mesa University getting some work done and getting PUMPED for the Boise State football game. I have my BRONCO FOR LIFE alumni shirt on and I am telling everyone how excited I am to watch my Broncos play. Everyone here in Colorado obviously has a different Bronco team they care about but OH WELL. Tonight I still don't know where or with whom I will be watching the game but I know I will be watching!!
Here is an update on my time since my last post:
Theta Rho ended recruitment on Saturday and we welcomed the new members into the chapter with a pool party!! After all the business was taken care of I took the rest of the day off so when we arrived at the house I found a chair, put my swim suit on and spent the day relaxing in the sun. I got a little darker and felt great after a week of hard work! After the shenanigans that often come with a pool party, my main homies from Theta Rho, Julz and Kenzie took me to Cadillac Ranch. It is a big field with Cadillacs buried in the dirt. They are all spray painted on and people often take their senior pics there. We found a few half empty cans and did our own spray painting. It was super fun! After this we went to a pizza buffet arcade!!! IT WAS AWESOME. The pizza was delicious, the ranch was great and the cookies were amazing. Julz friend David works there and he hooked us up. We each got a cup full of tokens and I spent the time playing games and winning tickets. I get really hyped up at arcades so I was having a ton of fun. I ended up winning 300 tickets so I got a fun dip and over 100 tootsie rolls. WORTH IT. It was a great ending to my trip in Texas!
The next morning Julz drove me to the airport and I headed to Grand Junction. While I was in the Amarillo airport there was a flight leaving to Boise and I was very tempted to get on it!
My week in Grand Junction has been great! I have been staying with an advisor who is super nice and always willing to make me food, take me places and chat it up. She has two dogs who are always happy to see me too so that is fun! I usually head to campus with her in the mornings when she goes to work in the alumni center and then I stay until after the women of Theta Psi end whatever event is going on that evening. It makes for some long days but I've learned how to take productive breaks and go outside when needed! Recruitment has been going so well and it is exciting to see the turn out of interested women wanting to join Alpha Sigma Alpha. I've been mistaken for a college student this week more times than I can count despite my best efforts to dress professionally and act like I've got my life together. LOL
I am planning on going on some hikes here because there are so many beautiful places to explore! The women are so sweet and I've had a really good time meeting with officers and helping them learn everything. (Theta Psi is a new chapter, they just got installed in April so they are all founding members like I was at BSU)
It is super weird and sad not being in Boise this time of year. I've been thinking of all the things I'm missing during this week like the balloon festival, the first football game, having a holiday weekend etc. Makes me appreciate Boise that much more!
Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying all that September has to bring!
Ciao ciao for now!
