Hey y'all!
I have had two visits since the last time I blogged!!
The end of my Pueblo trip was fun! My little sister Bella, has a friend from high school, Jordan who took me on a day trip to a man made castle. It was way up in the mountains and was amazing to see and smell the mountain air!!
That night I went to Buffalo Wild Wings with Dani, my little sister from my chapter! We watched the BSU game and had a great time catching up!!
The next day the women of Zeta Pi took me to a football game. It was fun but they kept apoligizing for it "not being as cool as BSU." TRUE, but I still had a great time. We went to dinner all together and had a great last night together!
I woke up at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday the 27th, to drive two hours from Denver to Pueblo. I arrived in Salt Lake around 9:45 a.m. I was exhausted because I didn't go to bed until 1:30 a.m. I was terrified that my ride wasn't going to wake up or I wasn't going to wake up or something so I only slept for two hours!! Plus the hour on the plane, so three total...aka NOT ENOUGH.
Jill, Jalen and Jazlyn picked me up from the airport and I hung out at their house for the day. It was so nice to see them. ( for those of you who don't know, I nannied for Jalen and Jazlyn all of college before I got this job and they moved to Utah)
I stayed with Madison, one of the advisors. She lives in a basement of someones house. It was really cutely decorated and she had this huge dog that was in love with me. It was nice, but I do hate dog hair so that part wasn't my favorite. The week was spent mostly at Starbucks because the campus wifi would not cooperate with my computer. I met with officers, ate a lot of food and enjoyed a fairly non eventful week. On Friday the chapter didn't have any plans for me so Jill picked me up around lunch time and I got to spend another day with the kiddos. We ended up going to the dinosaur museum and red robin, YUM. It was so wonderful to seem them again. After working with college aged women for a few months, it was sooooo nice to see children, especially ones that love me so much!!
I headed to Beta Mu, in Arkansas on Saturday. Another early morning for me, we left at 5:00 a.m. from Orem to get to Salt Lake for my flight. I arrived in Little Rock around 2:15. A member picked me up and we drove about an hour and a half to Arkadelphia. The town is small and the campus is beautiful. Lots of brick buildings and tons of trees. Once we got to her house, I had received a package from my LC buddy, Jordan Huntze. (she is a past LC who started the colony at Boise State) It had twix, twizzlers, face masks a luggage tag and cute new stationary!! It was such a nice gift to start my week! THANKS AGAIN J-HUNTZE!! We went to the football game that some of the other members were at. It was so small and cute. We won so that was good! They took me to Cracker Barrel for a welcome dinner, which was delicious. I haven't been there for anything other than breakfast and my chicken and dumplings were superb!!! That night I did a face mask and watched a movie before passing out on my wonderful bed.
I ended up sleeping until 2:00 pm the next day! Crazy right?? I guess I was tired....It was okay though because I didn't have any meetings scheduled! The three women I am staying with are awesome. April, Nicole and Jesse. Jesse gave me her room for the week. It is wonderfully decorated and I even had my own bathroom! I felt like a queen all week. This week was big sister little sister reveal week so everyone was busy crafting. They are crazy about this week here...I have never seen so many crafts for one person in my life!!!
The week was filled with meals and meetings with various members. It was great to meet everyone, and I will be honest and say that I have started talking with an accent a little more than usual....oops.
I had so much fun hanging out with everyone and laughing my head off with my roomies for the week.
On Wednesday, April drove me to Hot Springs, the bigger city about 45 minutes away. We went to the mall, drove around downtown and ate at a Japanese restaurant. I tried a piece of sushi and like I imagined, I HATED IT. But hey, I tried it, right? The city, Hot Springs has a whole row of bath houses that are all beautiful and it was really fun to see them all. We also drove by a cupcake bakery that was featured on Cupcake Wars, one of my favorite shows!!!! It was great.
Big sister little sister reveal was fun to see. All the families had different themes complete with elaborate costumes. It was a little obnoxious but super cute as well.
Today I am finishing up a few meetings then heading to Conway, Arkansas to meet my friend Sydney. (Sydney was an LC that visited BSU two years ago. She is one of my dearest friends now and she is having her wedding shower this weekend, so I get to go)
I AM SO EXCITED TO SEE HER!!!!!!!!
So I am off to get ready to leave.
2 weeks until Boise!!
Ciao ciao for now!
xoxo
