Hey y'all,
So I haven't blogged in months and months. OOPS. The end of my LC career was great. I had a great time in Rochester. It snowed the last day I was there!! It was crazy!! I then headed to Southern Texas to Texas A&M Kingsville. I had a great time there with the warm weather and sweet sisters. I sat in the sun constantly after being in the snow so I had a terrible sunburn on my face. The last week of traveling was spent with Kiley in Texarkana and New Jersey! We had a great time navigating the crazy driving of NJ and got to spend time on the campus of Ramapo College which is seriously beautiful! One of the best parts was when we went to the Cake Boss store in Hoboken. It was soooo delicious.
The last week in the office was as you could have guessed, bittersweet. We stayed out too late, ate too many sweets, drank more than we had in months and had many tender moments together. In the office we were wrapping up reports, clearing out our computers and helping prepare for convention. Leaving everyone was super sad but the good thing is I know I've made some life long friends and I will see them again.
My "summer" in Boise was too short but also wonderful. Jessi, Christina and I were able to support all our friends at graduation and have a fun week together. Yaya held a super fun Greek Easter filled with friends, family and food. The month of May was a blur. Every morning I hung out with Yaya, packed some of my stuff and cleaned out my many boxes. Every afternoon I met up with a friend to say goodbye and every evening I spent with Kyle, Tara and Ollie-pop. It was a great way to spend my last month at home.
The last Sunday of May Yaya and I headed East to Kansas City. We stopped in Salt Lake, where I was able to visit the Howell family and meet the new baby. I nannied Jalen and Jazlyn for all of college so it was great to see them again. We drove through Wyoming, which was dreadfully boring stopping in Cheyenne before heading across Nebraska and staying outside of Omaha. We woke up early and made the rest of the drive to my new home in KC!! We put everything from my car in storage, had lunch with Aubrey who met us in KC and settled into our hotel. We spent the next few days wandering garage sales and thrift stores, as well as finding cool things to do. I had a great week with Yaya and was distraught when she left.
For the first two weeks I stayed with a family friend in a town 15 miles outside of Lee's Summit, which is where my apartment is. The first two weeks of work were crazy. I learned a lot, I realized I knew absolutely nothing about working for a service fraternity. PS I work at Alpha Phi Omega. A co-educational National Service Fraternity. We are on over 370 campuses all around the country and have chapters in Canada, Puerto Rico, the Philippines and soon to be in Canada.
I work with four other women, my boss Stacey, and three consultants, Ellyce, Elise and Marissa. They have been great to get to know.
I also got a part time job as a server at Johnny's Tavern. It has been fun to have something to do and the extra cash has been nice too.
I start school next week at UCM and I am super excited and super nervous!!
