HIII GUYSSS,
Happy last week of October!
The end of September was great. I had a wonderful time in Colorado for work. Boulder is sooooo beautiful. I would definitely live there. It was great to see mountains again.
October has been crazy. I spent the first weekend/week at a conference related to my graduate program. It was great to learn more about student affairs and hang out with people from my cohort. The food was great, #priorities, and the speakers were enlightening.
The next weekend I flew to Indianapolis for Region Volunteer Training for Alpha Sigma Alpha. I loved seeing all my ASA pals. Shout out to: Aubrey, Kelly, Emily, Juliann, Jessi, Corrinna, Jordan, Ali, Ashlie, Christine, Allison, Jessie, Abby, and my new friends Ali, Daryl and Leann! I had such a fun weekend with my LC friends and obviously I had a great time learning more about volunteering for ASA.
The following weekend I flew to BOISE!!!!! I haven't been home since the end of May so I was VERY excited. Keena, Jessi and Ryann flew in as well. We were very excited to celebrate Boise State's Homecoming. We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Newsom and I was able to finally meet Jax, Tara and Kyle's new puppy. I cried when I had to say goodbye to Ollie Pop but I am already looking forward to the next time we get to hang out. The weekend was filled with the usual festivities; going to Boise Fry Company, Quik Wok chinese food eggs in the morning, Saturday Market shenanigans, tailgating, homecoming parade, Boise Downtown and brunch at Bardenay. We also went to Big Al's for a night filled with arcade gaming and too much fun. The feeling of being home is so great. It was weird this time though, for the first time, I wasn't really coming "home." Boise will for sure always be my home town, but I really do feel like Kansas City is my home now. As always, it was super difficult to say goodbye to all my family and friends but I will cherish the great memories we made during our time together. GO BRONCOS!!
This past weekend, my mom and Brodie came to visit! It was great to finally show someone in my family my apartment and my office! The weather was soo nice. They were big fans of Quik Trip which is the best gas station ever. My mom and I went and got mani-pedis which is always one of my favorite activities. We ate at my new favorite place, Char Bar and got to go to a Chiefs game!! We won and it was super great! I love you Mommy!
This weekend is halloween and all I can think about is how I will never have a better costume than my grape costume last year...sigh...oh well. My cohort is having a party at one of our professors houses so that should be fun.
ALSO, Missouri is deciding not to participate in Fall this year. The weather has continued to be warm. I was (although unlike me) very excited to pull out my scarves, sweaters and boots and start bundling up. Jokes on me it is way too warm to do any of that. I'm stuck with my ankle pants, flats and blouses. I have this bad feeling I will whine about it now and then next week it'll start snowing. (KNOCKS ON WOOD)
Anywhoooooo, I've had a whirlwind last few weeks. I have been out of town 7 out of 10 weeks of grad school and while I'm still doing well, I am very happy to be chilling out for the next month. I will be spending a lot of time focusing on holiday decorating my apartment, planning Tarynsgiving and reading the massive amounts of pages assigned to me from my professors.
Here's hoping I can break out the scarves soon, and to all my friends and family scattered about, miss you & love you.
ciao ciao for now,
xoxo
