Tarynsgiving Recap

HI ALL,

Tarynsgiving was everything I wanted it to be. Our maple bacon turkey turned out amazingly delicious. The bacon on top was super burnt looking but it tasted so good and the turkey was really good (and that is coming from someone who doesn't even like turkey.) The maple bacon recipe was me trying to get our turkey to taste like ham instead...oops.  We also had stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, yams, rolls, mac and cheese, and green bean casserole, it was all great! My surprise for my friends was a Tarynsgiving beer, cider, and wine tasting! I bought a bunch of different beer, cider and wines from around Missouri and Kansas (and a few random other states/countries) and we tasted each one throughout the day. It was a really fun way to break up the day while cooking and eating and hanging out. My friend Katelyn came over after work to celebrate which was so great!

We spent the weekend exploring Kansas City, drinking and eating A LOT as well as enjoying the relatively nice weather. Kyle won a dance battle at the piano bar we went to, Tara and I watched the Gilmore Girls Revival and Matteo made us some delicious pizza. I had so much fun with my friends and cannot wait until their next visit. Hopefully next time will be warm and sunny and all the places I take them will be inhabited with people instead of empty and chilly.

The following week I was on hyper drive to finish my remaining final papers, projects and presentations for my first semester of grad school. I finished everything and am happy to be taking a break until January.

I had a Christmas party a few weekends ago and we had so much fun. Friends from work, from school, friends from Florida and a friend from home all celebrated together. We played cards against humanity and loaded questions and had a blast. I was so happy to have people over to my apartment to hang out and play games!

We are still going to trivia each week. We had an all time low score one week and then the next we did the best we've ever done. It is very up and down for us score wise but we never stop having fun.

I am spending Friday and Saturday morning with Aubrey and her dad, Vince. We are going to have a mini Christmas together since I do not get to go home and I am so excited for it.

On Christmas Eve I am going to go to church and then finish packing for convention. Christmas morning we leave for Pittsburgh! I am glad to be busy traveling so I won't be sad about not being at home with the fam.

I get home on NYE and plan on partying it up with Katelyn, Doug and one of their visiting friends from Florida. We are going to have a great time!!

Ciao ciao for now,
xoxo
Taryn
